I've always know that time goes so quickly, but I feel it more than I ever have before..The Grandchildren are growing so fast and becoming there own individual selves and it's wonderful to watch. We live in a time with so many electronic devices, and the kids are so smart, the world is there oyster and they can be anything they want. When Ken and I were children the world was at such a slower pace, but it's just a different time now, makes me wonder what the world holds in the next 50 years ?
Mackenzie has a car now, it's really cute white 4 door (that's what she wanted) colt, she'll be driving me around probably this summer. Wow !
Until next time I'm signing off and will continue my story !

Wonderful Family Times
It's been awhile since my last blog, retirement is busyier than I imagined, the grandchildren are into Sports now, and Mackenzie is into Dance, She danced with a dance company for many years, and now is on the Dance Team for Mt.Spokane Highschool...It's very fun to see her perform, she really talented, sweet, adorable, and we love her so much..The boys are into all sports, Matthew really loves football, and has played Soccer for many years, and now this year 2011 he is playing basketball and really learning alot.
We love to watch him play ! It's a blast !!! Mason into Soccer and he really loves that, but he says he wants to
play football like his older brother Matthew...So I'm pretty sure he will...
Since my last blog so much has happened , Mackenzie is in High School, Matthew is in Junior High , and Mason will go into 1st grade this next year...Keeps Shelly their mother very busy to say the least.
We spend a lot of time at the cabin at priest lake it's still one of our favorite places in the world. Scott and
Shelly bought a 5th wheel and have been going traveling to the ocean, getting crab, clams, etc. Just like we
did with Scott when he was a little boy. This year for Spring break him and his family are going to Hawii for a vacation. And we will watch their doggie's while they are gone, But will still be going to the cabin every weekend they can...Ken and I because we are retired go almost every week which is really great, we have the boat, the 4 wheeler and the doggie's and it's a good time for all.
My Dad Mel celebrated his 80th Birthday last year, and the whole family came, even realatives from Utah and Canada ! It was a wonderful time for all..Got lots of pictures of family !
One of the most wonderful things that happened this year 2011 is that I became a U.S.Citizen which is something I've wanted to do for a very long time. It was a long process, interview, tests, swearing in ceramony etc. But it's done I am a citizen of the United States!
I also got my passport Ken and I would like to do some traveling, We have Paris in mind but we will see , the world is such a different place right now concerning traveling but we will make the trip someday ! Dreams do come true you know !

In the beginning: Born June 6th 1948 in Vancouver BC, Canada to Oresa Dawna Forsyth, and Harold Hugh Sansom, my parents... Married and were divorced 2 years later..After that my mother and I lived with my Grandparents, Thelma, and Donald Forsyth, along with my mother's 2 brothers, Alex and David Forsyth...They were all wonderful to me and treated me like a princess... Always...parks, walks, the ice cream store...shopping and the special one the ball park ! I have the most wonderful memories of that time in my life ! My grandparents are gone now and so is David, bless their souls, but Alex is still here and we are senior citizens together...funny how life is ? I'm 61 now and he's 68.....
After a few years my mother Oresa met Melvin Holmes on a blind date, he was on leave in Vancouver with the Navy..they started dating after that and finally married, and we moved to Utah..to live .. Mel had a large family and they were well know in the Utah area, his Mother Laura Holmes ran a Wedding Business, decorating wedding cakes, setting up the reception area's etc. I used to help her make chocolates and decorate cakes...learned a lot... She was a very talented and wonderful lady, and I feel luck to have had her in my life... And her Husband
Eugene, my grandfather was a very sweet a gentle man... I loved him very much..He made my life special...because he was special !
I spent most of my school years in Utah, then Dad (Mel) started traveling with work, we lived in Boise, Idaho Wichita, Kansas Seattle, Washington which in ended staying in Seattle, and I graduated from Evergreen High School there, and met Ken...
We got engaged after he returned from the Air Force, he was gone 2 years, upon his coming home we picked up where we left off, and after 1 year engagement we married..a small wedding with family and friends, we just wanted to be married, that's when in earlier posts I got sick with Kidney failure..
After 2 years of marriage we had our first child, Scott and Jenny followed 3 years later, they are all grown and married now and we have 4 grandchildren... We again are truly blessed..
It was Scott and Shelly who were married first and we went to Hawaii to have the wedding, and wonderful and beautiful time, that we will always remember..We also made a family vacation. The reception was at our home back in Seattle, where family and friends gathered to honor the new Mr.& Mrs.Scott K.Miller....
After Jennifer graduated High School , we moved to Spokane, Washington for Ken had been transferred there with Exxon.. She stayed with us in our New home for about 3 months and then went back to Seattle to be with her boyfriend Tim Grauman.. 2 years following they would announce they were getting married... We had a Beautiful Garden Wedding in my sister's wonderful landscaped yard..a perfect place for Jenny to marry.. All family and friends attended and it was a great day ! I was so proud of her and Tim... Our first born granddaughter would be the flower girl...sooo cute !
So now our children are both married and now comes the fun part Grandchildren...first would be Mackenzie Lynn, then Matthew Scott, & Mason , Scott and Shelly's children.. Then the twins Madison Ann, and Colton James, Tim and Jenny's children... Once again we are Blessed !
They are wonderful Children, we love them so much..
Ken and I were at the Births of all our grandchildren...That was very important for us, I was even in the delivery room for the twins...along side Jenny, while they burst into the world. Quite the experience..I'll have to admit, one I will never forget..They twin had to stay in the hospital for several weeks after the birth, they were too small, only 3 and 4 pounds.. So Ken and I stayed at the house a decorated the nursery for their home coming when they first came home they both fit in a bassinet that I had refinished for them...It was so cute seeing them in one bassinet ! It was great to finally get them and Jenny home .
Today's date August 2nd 2009 Mackenzie is 14 Wow ! Matthew is 11, Mason 3 1/2, and the twins will be 6 on August 11th....
We will all be together August 14th for our annual family vacation here at the cabin on Pinto Point, @ Priest Lake... The kids are at the age where they really can have fun together, in the water, on the beach, at the night time marshmellow's roasts, boating, skiing etc. it's fun time for all.
Ken and I bought Scott's boat and Scott got a new boat this year.. So it should be a fun year !
It allow's us to get away and let our kids have time to themselves too. We love being together, but I think it's good to let everyone have time to share with each other alone...Even the grandparents...that would be us !
Well as you can see I've had a pretty good life, but for today I'm going to close, and get some sun rays..

Two years into the marriage we decided to start a family...Our first child was Scott Kenneth Miller born July 6Th, 1970. A wonderful sweet boy ! Who today in 2009 is a wonderful father, husband and son...A very intelligent young man who I am very proud of...He has a spirit that is always creating wonderful moments for his family ! Then in 1973 Jennifer Ann Miller was born in May, it was a difficult pregnancy and it would be my last child. She was a tiny beautiful little girl, I had a Boy and a girl and felt truly blessed. We had our family ! As parents we did spoil them we took them everywhere we went, fancy dinner's out, camping, fishing, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, we spent a lot of time in the San Juan Islands, in the state of Washington..We were always on the go with the boat and the kids ! It was truly wonderful, as I grew up in Utah and had never really been around water or boats. My children grew up loving the water, the boats , camping you name it they loved it, and as a result of doing all those things together as a family, to this day they love the water, boats, outdoors, camp fires and we own a cabin on Priest Lake together and enjoy our time together there often...Now the Grandchildren are growing up the same way loving family, and all the great outdoors can bring ! It's truly a wonderful thing when your kids are grown and still want to spend their vacation time with you !
Well that's a beginning and enough for today ! The story continues.....
Well that's a beginning and enough for today ! The story continues.....
We were married on August 10th 1968 in the Mormon Church in Seattle, Washington, all friends and family were in attendance. It was a special day and we could hardly wait to take off for the Canon Beach coast line...But we waited until the next morning and set off on our honeymoon...3 days into the honeymoon I got sick..really sick! I couldn't sit up walk or anything...Ken put me in the back seat of the car and covered me up as I was shivering terribly..He raced to get me back to Seattle to the Hospital, once we returned and got to the Doctor, we found out that my right kidney had failed, and was infecting the other one, and I had to be rushed into surgery right away..what a way to start a marriage...It was touch and go there for awhile as both kidneys were failing..the doctors were trying to save the left kidney so they could operate...To make a long story short they did remove the right kidney and I had to stay in the Hospital for recovery for three weeks...
As tough as it was I think almost losing my life made us strong and our love even stronger..That remains true to this day !
As tough as it was I think almost losing my life made us strong and our love even stronger..That remains true to this day !
It all started in 1968 that was the year I graduated from Evergreen High School, in June and that is also the month and year I met my Husband Ken...That's when my life really began...After 40 years of marriage and two children later.. and five wonderful grandchildren, I find myself retired after many different jobs..The last job was especially wonderful and the people I worked with were really special, many remain friends to this day. So now I'm retired finding I can do anything I want everyday, it's alittle strange...
That's the reason I'm doing this blog is to tell my life story for me and my family..It's been a wonderful life with many surprises along the way. And somehow now seems to be the right time...I was inspired by a dear friend and so it shall begin !
